We have a unique opportunity to raise the quality of life for our "at-risk" families.
Travis and Collin County are piloting the replication of the Relief Nursery™ program in the State of Texas, strengthening families and preventing child abuse and neglect.
Relief Nursery™ is a proven, evidence-based program with a 33 year history of success that will lower the case load for Child Protective Services and lessen the need foster care for our Texas children.
The Relief Nursery™ program will strengthen the family and prevent child abuse - all under one roof - through a combination of a therapeutic early childhood classroom, while addressing the needs of the entire family.
Home visits are part of the program that builds a trusting relationship between the classroom teacher and the family. Other program components include the providing of nutritional meals while in attendance at the facility, parent education classes, a “clothes closet”, mental health assessment, and substance abuse intervention support - all under one roof.
Parents will be following an individualized case plan based on their unique needs. The goal is to empower each family with the capabilities to build a positive environment in which to raise their family.
The need is real in Collin County.
